FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Charleston, SC  Meet Charles ("Chuck") Merry, a creative, talented Photographer and Photo Journalist. The Low Country and its surroundings prides itself on its history and hospitality. For the second consecutive year, Charleston, South Carolina was chosen "Top City" in the United States by the Conde Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Awards and this past  year along with this distinction named Top City in the World. Charles Merry has photographed most of the Low Country's "Top Spots", so no surprise to him Charleston is a favorite destination.

Charles Merry. As a photographer, he captures  the soul and spirit of his subjects.  With Charleston as a backdrop, he has created memorable images for Weddings, Families and Special events in the Low Country "Giving Back to the Community."

Already known for its  hospitality, Charleston has become a top Wedding Destination choice and Charles Merry has been a part, making this happen for the Low Country. He received the 2013 Bride's Choice Award from Wedding Wire.

A common theme among client testimonials at  CM Photography; his down to earth personality, being able to work with people of all ages and, his incredible creativity. On his Facebook Community page, he says the following:

"As I have practiced it, photography produces pleasure by simplicity. I see something special and show it to the camera. A picture is produced. The moment is held until someone sees it. Then it is theirs.”

This past holiday season, at the 5th Annual Santa Bar Crawl, raising money for Carolina Children's Charities, he was a host. If there is an event benefiting children, Charles Merry will be in attendance.

He is rarely, if ever without some type of camera, putting him in a unique position to record an historic event.  August 28, 2012, was one of those events.

His images went viral  as everyone was in a frenzy over flooding in Downtown Charleston, but instead of panicking they took to the streets in this "Flash Flood".

Nothing gives him more satisfaction than helping people realize their dreams and imaginations.

Meet Top Socialite Cheryl Woods-Flowers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Charleston, SC  Cheryll Woods-Flowers, life long resident of Mount Pleasant, and former Mayor 1992-2000 embodies Southern Hospitality, graciousness, and selfless service to the Low Country. Currently serving on the Mount Pleasant Planning Commission, Crime Stoppers of the Low Country Board of Directors  (voluntary position), and seasoned Real Estate Professional, she has a lifetime of achievements "Giving Back to the Community".

Cheryl Woods-Flowers' inspiring influence in and around the Palmetto State is well founded. Taking the lead on many innovative, cutting edge projects in the public, private and non profit sectors, the camaraderie existing among all members of any team she is attached, is self evident.

Cheryll has played an important role in Charleston becoming a "Top Destination" for people to live work and play while "Giving Back to the Community".

In 2005, Cheryll Woods-Flowers was awarded the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest, civilian honor, presented by Governor Mark Sanford. In 2000 she served as President of The Municipal Association of South Caroline (MASC), serving the State's incorporated municipalities.  Becoming Mayor and a life long resident, gave her more opportunities to "Give Back to the Community".

Among Cheryll's many other accomplishments, she was former Chair of the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission, a member of the College of Charleston Business and Economics Advisory Board, and Vice President of the College of Charleston Cougar Club. She served as a director of the College of Charleston Alumni Board and as a member of the Trident Boys and Girls Clubs Board of Directors.

She was recognized as a "Woman of Distinction" by the Low Country Girl Scouts and has contributed her talents to the East Cooper Kiwanis Club, the East Cooper Republican Women, the South Carolina Coastal Conservation League, East Cooper Community Outreach, East Cooper Meals on Wheels and the East Cooper Concert Series.

After 14 years in public service; 6 years on City Council and 8 as Mayor, she turned to a new career in Real Estate. Her interest in local South Carolina history, combined with a life long residency makes her a "Goodwill Ambassador" for people residing, relocating or making a move to another home.  She takes particular care with each client, their needs always first.

Her plate always full, she is known for reaching out and using her resources to help people in need  at any time.  Cheryll Woods-Flowers was responsible for putting the fund together with First Federal for "Tony the Peanut Man" who lost $10,000 in equipment and peanuts in an early morning fire on April 2012.

Cheryll related, "when I was with Tony this morning, he told me that he has been completely overwhelmed with the offer of assistance from so many. I told him that is our gift to have the opportunity to help HIM!" When I asked First Federal to help, they stepped forward gladly. There wasn't a dry eye in the office when we were together...all of us, Susan with First Federal, Tony, and I cried. Love this community!"   She also is a diligent "behind the scenes" supporter of Carolina Children's Society Annual Telethon.  Cheryll would much rather give credit to others when "Giving Back to the Community"

Cheryl Woods-Flowers is a Low Country gem. Whether lending her expertise in the housing market to helping causes, her star shines bright.  In 2009 the Patriots Point Sports Complex was named after her in honor of her service to the town. A visionary she saw the potential for soccer in the town and worked diligently as Mayor, to make this happen.  When all is said and done, however, Cheryll will tell you the cornerstone of everything she has done and will do, is family. A Top Socialite, worthy of distinction never tires of "Giving Back to the Community".

Meet Top Socialite Demi Bean

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Charleston, SC Meet Demi Bean, fitting the bill; Top Socialite, 2012, having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps stationed at Beaufort, SC in a non-deploying unit. Her journey beginning here, instilled core values, "honor, courage and commitment  the foundation of every Marine's character".  Demi worked in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom and earned a prestigious medal Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal.  Mother, role model, savvy entrepreneur, Demi began her journey "Giving Back to the Community".

Demi Bean's, arrival to the Palmetto State from the Keystone State and the years spent in the Military, was a measure of her staying in South Carolina, eventually moving to Charleston.

Demi, a single mother met husband Jason in Charleston, and had another daughter; now ages 4 and 11.  After trying to lose extra "after pregnancy weight", going to the gym regularly, she was not making progress, but rather than give up, she was determined to find a way to lose the weight, making  a commitment to keeping fit year round. Having those basic core values and a determination, it was not until she found P90X, the first program matching her own goals did she feel confident about, getting back core values; the essential ingredients of a balanced emotional and physical spirit.  Demi was about to go on a journey; the adventure of a lifetime resulting in major contributions "Giving Back to the Community".

Not having weights at the time when starting P90X did not stop her from fashioning together strength bands, along with two five pound cans for weights. Combined with healthy eating, the first month, had a substantial weight loss, but as much as this a bonus, she was back to her "Marine style of training".  Demi's personal story here, a remarkable achievement of the human spirit.  There was an added bonus of becoming involved with the P90X Program;she became a Team Beachbody Coach where she has helped people all over the United States and Canada, meet their fitness goals.

Demi has appeared in two nationally televised infomercials; "P90X" and "Insanity - The Asylum".  She appeared in both as a "product of the product", a role model and inspiration for others to get fit, stay fit and pass along to others. One of her biggest rewards; working from home and being close to her two daughters.

Although not known to most, if any, Demi Bean now has a separate area of her residence where she does training for no cost for people needing help with fitness goals, Demi's mantra of enjoying life to its fullest.  No doubt Demi's enthusiasm, and sharing her wealth of fitness knowledge has become a major goal "Giving Back to the Community".

This past year also saw Demi as Assistant Director for Juliette Neil's single, and debut video, "South Cackalack", about the beautiful state of South Carolina. Her coaches on Team Body continue to do well giving them independence and a chance to share Demi Bean's fitness philosophy widening the circle of people "Giving Back to the Community".

Demi's fan page has reached over 3,000 people, but again whether one fan or thousands, her goal of keeping people emotionally and physically balanced through her work, has made her a champion, "Giving Back to the Community".

Semper Fi, Demi Bean!

Read Jack's Story below and sums it up what Laura Carson is about:

"Hi, my name is Jack. I was saved from being put down by my crazy new mommy. Since my mom does a ton of websites and computer work pro bono work for shelters and rescue groups, she read a story online that saved my life. My previous owner was in his final stages of life due to cancer, and had to surrender me. He looked a lot like Santa Claus, and was too weak to handle my strength.

I was accidentally placed in a high kill shelter, when I was promised to a rescue group. Because I tested heart worm positive, and I'm a bully breed, they said I was not adoptable. The lady at the shelter argued with my new mom, and told  her I'd be put to sleep in 3 hours and there was nothing she could do about it. Lucky for me, my new mom is not a person that likes to be told no. She was willing to get arrested to save my life. Luckily it didn't come down to that. She called in all favors owed to her, and came out victorious. My new mom called my old daddy since his number was still on my collar, and he got to say goodbye to me on the phone. As he cried and told me how much he loved me and he was sorry to have to get rid of me, I licked the phone and let him know I was in a good home and I liked it here with my new family."

Each Top Socialite through their unique, savvy, entrepreneurship have been stalwarts of Giving Back to The Community establishing Charleston, and the surrounding areas a place to reside, conduct business, and enjoy an incredible lifestyle along the way.

Camille Key event organizer extraordinaire has been waving her magic wand in Charleston since her arrival from Colorado, three and a half years ago. After a ten year stint in The Centennial State, Camille chose Charleston as her next destination.

No stranger to the Low Country, Camille spent family vacations here, and familiar with the "lay of the land".

Camille at the helm of Charleston After Dark; a woman, on the move whose creative genius, coupled with her natural entrepreneurial skills has made her the "go to gal" in Charleston for event planning and delivery;  her reputation putting her in the top tier of talent in her field, globally. Charleston After Dark is synonymous with organized, exceptional and orchestrates events with panache. Camille, behind the scenes, a role she relishes, is a tireless champion for "Giving Back to the Community". Top priority planning an event, commences with attention to the greatest impact for individuals, organizations or other entities in need.  Charleston, SC, well known for its philanthropy, was another factor in Camille Key's decision to reside in our fair city.

Camille Key's mantra, "How Can I Help",  became legendary this past year for two people; Maudell "Dell" Grayson proprietor of Dell'z Deli at 1A Cannon Street and Anthony Wright, known as "Tony The Peanut Man".  Both had been through life changing events, Grayson  being stabbed nine times in her arm near her sister's house in the West Ashley section of Charleston.  "Dell" as she is known, was back at the Deli just a week after the attack making her "signature wraps".  With mounting medical bills, Nicole Brown, Grayson's daughter contacted Camille for help organizing a fundraiser.  In typical Camille Key fashion, she organized the event, her services and expenses donated, at the Torch Lounge.

Tuesday, April 17, 2012, Anthony Wright, "Tony The Peanut Man" lost his cooking equipment in an early morning fire; estimated damage, $10,000.  A life changing event, the Community rallied, giving immediate support.  By Thursday, April 19th, Camille Key was meeting with local businesses and restaurants to coordinate fundraising events. Her keen sense of helping and timing, for those people in need, makes her an exemplary model of "Giving Back to the Community".

On the personal front, and not known to many, her penchant and passion has led her to become actively involved at Sidewalk Chalk, the organization going into Charleston Schools helping children "find their voice".  Every Wednesday, Camille is at the Mitchell School, working with students through Sidewalk Chalk.

Camille ends the year with a new beginning, a bevy of talent came together for The Rose Ball, one of Charleston's Premier New Year's Eve events held at the Citadel's Hagwood Stadium.  Banks Pappas, Media Compologist debuted his work. Camiille Key, along with  Boris Van Dyck, ICEBOX Innovative Beverage Services served up this memorable occasion.  A portion of the proceeds benefited the Tanzanian Education Foundation, a Charleston-based nonprofit that provides funding for elementary education in Africa.

Banks Pappas  a combination of Andy Warhol and Marshall Mcluhan debuted at The Rose Ball.  Camille, recognizing talent, again lends her savvy and know how to introduce  this Media Compologist to the world.
